Yes. To fetch real-time PageSpeed data reliably and quickly, a free API key from Google Cloud is required. Without it, requests are subject to public rate limits which can be slow or blocked during high-traffic periods.

The dashboard runs exclusively in wp-admin and never loads on your front-end. The Performance Engine optimizations actually make your site faster for real visitors.

Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) are Google's official metrics for measuring real-world user experience. Failing them directly impacts your Google Search rankings. Passing all three sends a strong positive signal to Google's ranking algorithm.

Fully real-time. When you click "Refresh Analysis", the plugin calls Google's live PageSpeed Insights API and fetches a fresh Lighthouse 10 report. No caching — you always see the current state of your site.

Nothing, unless you explicitly click "Allow" in the welcome popup. If you allow, basic anonymous diagnostics (WP version, PHP version, plugin version, a one-way hash of your URL) are sent once. Choosing "Skip" means zero data is ever sent — not on activation, not on deactivation.

Requires WordPress 5.8+ and PHP 7.4+. Tested and confirmed compatible with WordPress up to 6.9.
